Overview

A Grade II Listed Theatre in the heart of Leatherhead. 495 seats are housed in the main auditorium which shows a mixture of cinema, screenings and live theatre.

The Leatherhead Theatre, formerly known as the Thorndike Theatre, opened in September 1969. Many well-known stars performed on the stage until the venue was closed in 1997 following the withdrawal of public funding. In 1999 the building was awarded Grade II listed status for buildings of special architectural or historic interest.

In 2001 the theatre opened again after a 15 year lease was granted to a local Christian charity and social enterprise.

It also houses conference facilities and an in house drama and dance school for children of all ages.
